LuLu Project, Mwanza Tanzania
LuLu Project, Mwanza Tanzania
The LuLu project helps teenage girls to discover their talents, plan their futures, start small businesses, and make beautiful handcrafts.
The girls meet twice a week, for 10 months to undergo training which focuses on supporting all aspects of a young girls life. The training includes life-skills, financial literacy, handcrafts, entrepreneurship, health and relationships. The groups identify leaders and each girl has a mentor. The lulu project builds on three pillars for life: cooperation (ushirikiano), courage (uthubutu), and creativity (ubunifu).
The picture of the hand holding the pearl refers to our own hands that are blessed with talents of great price; being able to write, to show someone the way, to comfort, and to make beautiful things.
